Ingredients:

  • 1 lb frozen green beans
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon zest

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Do not thaw the green beans.
  2. Place the frozen green beans in a large mixing bowl and toss thoroughly with avocado oil, sea salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes until every pod is well coated.
  3. For the oven method: Spread the seasoned beans in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet, ensuring they are not crowded. Roast for 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway through, until skins are blistered and mahogany-colored.
  4. For the air fryer method: Place beans in the basket and cook at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket every 3 minutes until a shattering crust forms on the tips.
  5. Remove from heat and immediately toss with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest to preserve the bright green color.
