Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1.5 cups (300g) light brown sugar, packed
- 0.5 cup (100g) white granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2.25 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar vigorously in a large bowl until smooth and glossy. Whisk in the egg, extra yolk, and vanilla until the mixture lightens slightly in color.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt directly over the wet ingredients. Use a spatula to fold gently until no more white streaks remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake until the edges are golden and centers are soft.
