Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 3 tbsp Whole Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 pinch Sea Salt
  • 2 slices Brioche bread, 1-inch thick
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow, wide-bottomed bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt for about 30 seconds until no egg white streaks remain.
  2. Place the brioche slices into the custard and soak for 45–60 seconds per side until the bread is heavy and soft but still intact.
  3. Melt the butter in a small non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-low heat until it begins to bubble.
  4. Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is deeply golden brown.
  5. Flip the bread and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the second side is browned and the center is set.
