Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
- 1/3 cup raw honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Pat the steak cubes completely dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear. In a bowl, toss the cubes with sea salt, black pepper, and neutral oil.
- Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Sear undisturbed for 2 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 90 seconds.
- Reduce heat to medium. Push steak to the edges of the pan and melt the butter in the center. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Toss the steak bites continuously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce reduces into a thick, mahogany-colored glaze.
- Remove from heat immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
