Ingredients:
- 1 cup (250g) strawberry jam
- 2 tbsp (30ml) water or corn syrup
- 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp (1g) salt
- 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Combine the strawberry jam, water (or corn syrup), and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
- Stir over medium heat until the jam begins to soften and the mixture becomes a uniform, mahogany-red liquid.
- Increase the heat slightly to bring the sauce to a gentle bubble, stirring constantly for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and develops a glossy surface.
- Remove the pan from the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Let the sauce sit for 2 minutes to cool slightly to allow the viscosity to increase.
