Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 4 fresh blueberries
  • 2 fresh raspberries
  • 1 sprig fresh mint

Instructions:

  1. Muddle the blueberries with a pinch of sugar in a small bowl until completely crushed, then press the fruit through a fine-mesh strainer to create a concentrated berry puree.
  2. Repeat the muddling and straining process in a separate bowl for the raspberries to create a second distinct puree.
  3. Combine the vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker 3/4 full with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  5. Pour the blueberry puree into the bottom of a highball glass.
  6. Slowly pour the shaken cocktail mixture over the back of a spoon to create a clear white middle layer.
  7. Carefully dollop the raspberry puree on top to complete the red, white, and blue layers.
  8. Garnish with fresh blueberries, raspberries, and a sprig of mint.
