Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 4 fresh blueberries
- 2 fresh raspberries
- 1 sprig fresh mint
Instructions:
- Muddle the blueberries with a pinch of sugar in a small bowl until completely crushed, then press the fruit through a fine-mesh strainer to create a concentrated berry puree.
- Repeat the muddling and straining process in a separate bowl for the raspberries to create a second distinct puree.
- Combine the vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill the shaker 3/4 full with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
- Pour the blueberry puree into the bottom of a highball glass.
- Slowly pour the shaken cocktail mixture over the back of a spoon to create a clear white middle layer.
- Carefully dollop the raspberry puree on top to complete the red, white, and blue layers.
- Garnish with fresh blueberries, raspberries, and a sprig of mint.
