Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10 ratio)
  • 1/3 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 packet onion soup mix
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, panko, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and the onion soup mix. Gently incorporate without overworking. Shape into 4 oval patties, about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indent in the center to prevent doming.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a large heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Place the patties in the pan and sear until a deep mahogany crust forms on both sides.
