Ingredients:
- 2 liters lemon-lime soda, chilled 24 hours
- 1 liter ginger ale, chilled 24 hours
- 4 cups pineapple juice, chilled
- 12 oz grenadine syrup
- 0.5 cup fresh lime juice
- 10 oz maraschino cherries
- 2 large oranges, sliced into wheels
- 4 cups ice rings
Instructions:
- Freeze the ice ring at least 8 hours in advance using filtered water or a mix of water and pineapple juice. Note: This prevents the cloudy look and adds flavor as it thaws.
- Place the ice ring into the center of your large punch bowl.
- Pour the 4 cups of chilled pineapple juice over the ice until the ice is halfway submerged.
- Add the 0.5 cup of fresh lime juice and the 12 oz of grenadine syrup. Note: Giving these a quick stir now ensures the flavor is consistent before the bubbles go in.
- Slowly tilt the bowl and pour in the 1 liter of ginger ale until you see gentle bubbles forming.
- Gently slide the 2 liters of lemon lime soda down the side of the bowl. Note: Pouring against the side prevents the carbonation from exploding and going flat.
- Scatter the 10 oz of maraschino cherries (and some of their juice) into the mix.
- Float the 2 large oranges (sliced into wheels) across the top surface until the surface is covered in color.
- Give one very slow, gentle stir with the ladle to incorporate the syrup at the bottom.
- Serve immediately into glasses, ensuring each guest gets at least one cherry and a slice of orange.
