- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cornstarch
Instructions:
- Gather ingredients. Place your small bowl or jar on a flat surface.
- Measure spices. Add the chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika.
- Add aromatics. Spoon in the garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano.
- Incorporate heat. Add the red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper.
- Season well. Sprinkle in the sea salt and black pepper.
- Add binder. Finish with the cornstarch. Ensure the cornstarch is not clumpy.
- Whisk thoroughly. Mix until the color is a uniform, deep reddish brown.
- Brown meat. Cook 1 lb of protein in a skillet until no longer pink and sizzle ready.
- Drain fat. Remove excess grease until only a light coating remains.
- Hydrate mix. Add the seasoning and 2/3 cup water to the pan. Simmer 3 minutes until thick and glossy.
