Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups (340g) tomato ketchup
  • 0.5 cup (170g) clover honey
  • 0.5 cup (120ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup (55g) dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp (5g) smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp (2.5g) fine sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp (2.5g) coarse black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp (1g) cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine 1.5 cups tomato ketchup and 0.5 cup clover honey in the saucepan.
  2. Pour in 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Add 0.25 cup dark brown sugar, ensuring you pack it into the measuring cup first.
  4. Whisk in 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp onion powder.
  5. Season with 0.5 tsp sea salt, 0.5 tsp coarse black pepper, and 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper.
  6. Place the pan over medium heat and whisk until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
  7. Bring the sauce to a gentle bubble, then immediately turn the heat down to low.
  8. Simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats a spoon.
  9. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes; it will continue to thicken as it cools.
  10. Transfer to a glass jar until completely cooled before sealing.
