Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups (340g) tomato ketchup
- 0.5 cup (170g) clover honey
- 0.5 cup (120ml) apple cider vinegar
- 0.25 cup (55g) dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5g) smoked paprika
- 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (5g) onion powder
- 0.5 tsp (2.5g) fine sea salt
- 0.5 tsp (2.5g) coarse black pepper
- 0.25 tsp (1g) cayenne pepper
Instructions:
- Combine 1.5 cups tomato ketchup and 0.5 cup clover honey in the saucepan.
- Pour in 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
- Add 0.25 cup dark brown sugar, ensuring you pack it into the measuring cup first.
- Whisk in 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp onion powder.
- Season with 0.5 tsp sea salt, 0.5 tsp coarse black pepper, and 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper.
- Place the pan over medium heat and whisk until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle bubble, then immediately turn the heat down to low.
- Simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes; it will continue to thicken as it cools.
- Transfer to a glass jar until completely cooled before sealing.
