In a mixing bowl, mash bananas with a fork, leaving some small chunks.
Add melted butter, brown sugar (or maple syrup), milk, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold until just combined—don’t overmix.
Fold in chopped hazelnuts (save a few for topping).
Pour batter into loaf pan. Sprinkle reserved hazelnuts (and optional chocolate chips/cinnamon) on top.
Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
