  • 1 cup Whole milk Or almond milk for dairy-free
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Prepare: Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Melt: In a heavy pan, melt butter on medium heat. Add sugar and milk, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves (5-7 mins).
  • Boil: Let it bubble until it hits 300°F (hard crack stage).
  • Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Set: Pour into the prepared dish, cool for 2 hours, then crack into pieces.

Notes

If your caramel turns out too sticky, it likely wasn’t cooked long enough to reach the hard crack stage. Re-melt it and continue cooking on low heat.
